GT Machining & Fabricating Ltd. defence business is a Canadian Industrial Benefits success story. GT cut its teeth in the military business back in the late 1980's manufacturing HLVW truck components for the Canadian Army as part of the IRB program. GT capitalized on this experience and has since gone on to deliver engine and transmission containers, bridging pallets, medium and heavy
container handling units as well as provide crane and cargo box overhaul services to US Army TACOM, the Canadian Army and the Dutch Army. GT is currently a prime contractor to US Army TACOM for two (2) programs - the Bridge Adapter Pallet (BAP) and the
Enhanced Container Handling Unit (ECHU). In addition, GT manufactures medium container handling units for the US Army FMTV program under subcontract. We understand the stringent quality requirements of the defence industry and have developed manufacturing processes to ensure these requirements are met. GT built products have received Material Release after extensive testing on the most gruelling proving grounds.
